The 80 / 20 Breakdown
80% funds cutting-edge lung cancer research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, with a focus on women and lung cancer.
20% supports patients and families directly — no-cost lodging through Family House, free parking at UPMC Hillman, and the lung cancer support group at Cancer Bridges.
The majority of support will continue to benefit UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and the ongoing research of Dr. Laura Stabile. UPMC Hillman Cancer Center was critical to Elizabeth’s care and Libby’s Lungs will always continue to support their research and patient support efforts.
The board of directors may also make grants to other nationally recognized lung cancer organizations or top tier research facilitates if they believe their funding from Libby’s Lungs will make a meaningful impact for the lung cancer community.
Since 2019, this community has raised over $400,000 for lung cancer research and patient support — and the work continues.
